Forensic Science
Program Description
Forensic science is a growing professional field throughout the United States and represents the interface between laboratory analytical science and the law. Students with a minor in forensic science can seek employment with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and other agencies conducting forensic investigations, or they may continue their education by pursuing a master’s degree in forensic science at another institution. The minor is best suited for students majoring in biology, particularly those in the Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology concentration, or in chemistry. It enhances students’ skills in the molecular biology, analytical chemistry, and criminological techniques used in forensic investigations.
