New Student Orientation
All new, degree-seeking undergraduate first-time and transfer students are required to submit a New Student Enrollment Form as the first step toward course registration. Students can find and submit their New Student Enrollment Form from their applicant portal. Students must be admitted in order to have access to the New Student Enrollment Form. For more information, call the Admissions Office at 970.248.1875.
First Time Students - After submission of the New Student Enrollment Form, first-time students will receive their course schedule from their Academic Advisor. Submitting test scores (ACT, SAT, or IB) allows for placement into courses that are required for degree or program completion. If these scores are unavailable, students will be required to complete the ALEKS Assessment. For more information on the ALEKS Assessment, please contact the Testing Center at testing@coloradomesa.edu.
Transfer Students - After submission of the New Student Enrollment Form, transfer students may self-register for courses, sign up with an Academic Advisor once their registration window opens, or request to have their schedule built by their Academic Advisor.
New Mav Days is the official welcome to campus for incoming students. For fall start students, it occurs the Friday and Saturday prior to the start of the semester. For spring start students, it occurs the Saturday prior to the start of the semester. All new students are required to attend New Mav Days.
Additional information regarding new student registration and orientation will be communicated to students upon notification of admission and also can be found on the Colorado Mesa University Orientation website and Next Step website.
